Name of the Emblem: “Piura, a city that advances”
Description of the emblem:
The design is the abstract expression of what represents the advance of the city, summarized in a minimum of elements of great meaning that appeal to the perception of the public.
Its principal element is the Sun (on a solar disc), typical of this city of the north, crossed by 3 lines that inspire the sensation of movement towards ahead.
The Sun represents a city - shaped by happy and cozy and hospitable people – where you can enjoy its warmth all year around. The Sun is crossed, in its northwest, by 3 infinite lines that indicate the geographical location of the city. The first line, of green color, represents the agricultural activity and its potential; in addition, the extensive forests of carob-trees of increasing agro industrial; uses and trees like the “zapote”, of great use in the typical handcrafted activity. The red line expresses the feelings of the Piura people that are not beyond to its history, but they have the courage and the sacrifice of our heroes. The yellow line located in the base, represents the spirit of a people of great religiousness, stuck to their faith and traditions.
The soften of the lines (from dark to clear), it’s inverse to the soften of the Sun (from clear to dark), which represents the balance in all his levels. The use of infinite lines, arranged rising draw the evolution and the three-dimensional plane in which we are.
The typography used links itself to the typography of the first big writings on Piura, the first Spanish city founded in South America.
